About the Suleymaniye Hamam
Our Suleymaniye Hamam was designed and built between 1550 and 1557 by the famous Ottoman architect Sinan who designed over four hundred buildings during his lifetime, the hamam being one of his most famous works. Sinan was also the architect of, another famous Istanbul landmark, the Sulaymaniye Mosque. The hamam is over 471 years old and was a regular stop for the Ottoman Sultan Suleyman, and many sultans after him, where they had designated quarters. The hamam experience in four steps
- Preparation
Before entering the hamam, you will change in your private, lockable dressing room.
You may remove your clothes and personal items (such as watches, jewelry, etc.) and leave them in your dressing room safely. Your room key will remain on your wrist during the experience.
- A bikini, shorts & peştemal are provided for women
- Shorts are provided for men
- Guests are welcome to bring their own swimwear (such as swim shorts or bikinis), if preferred
Please note: This is a shared traditional hamam experience, welcoming couples and families, with both male and female guests present at the same time.
- Hot Room Experience
Your journey begins in the hot room, an essential part of the hamam ritual.
You will relax on the warm central marble platform (Göbektaşı) for approximately 30 minutes . This allows your body to warm up, relax and prepare for the treatment.
- Temperature: 38–40°C
- Humidity: 65–72%
There may be other guests in the hot room, as this is a shared experience.
For your comfort:
- You may pour warm or cold water over yourself at any time
- You may step out to a cooler area and return when ready
- Please listen to your body and stay hydrated
If you have any health conditions affected by heat, kindly inform us in advance.
- Scrubbing & Soap Massage
After the hot room, your therapist will guide you to the treatment area.
Please note that all of the masseurs at the Suleymaniye Hamam are male.
You will receive:
- Full body exfoliation (scrubbing / peeling)
- Foam (soap) massage
- Full body washing
This treatment lasts approximately 30 minutes .
- Relaxation & Refreshments
After your treatment, you will move to the cooling area.
Here you can relax and enjoy your complimentary drink.
- Relaxation time: approximately 20 minutes
- The remaining time is for preparation and dressing

How To Make a Reservation?
- 1. First enter your information completely and accurately on our web site.
- 2. You will receive an e-mail that your reservation is "waiting for confirmation".
- 3. In the second e-mail you have to click green button to confirm your reservation.
- 4. If you do not click the green button, then your reservation request will be cancelled by the system.
- We recommend booking at least two / three days before the visit.
- Reservation can be done only online on our website .
- Reservations are only considered valid if you have received a confirmation email .

Hamam Clothes
We provide women a bikini. Shorts for everyone. If you want, you can also bring your swimming suits and slippers (for wet floor).
Accesory
Please don`t wear any rings, watch, earrings, necklace etc. during the bath.
Mobile Phone
Please turn off the sound of your mobile phone and don`t take it to the treatment room.
Health
Consider your health responsibly and do not use the bath if the heat will make you feel worse. In case of health problems or injury, please contact reception immediately.
Disabled
There is no ramp or service rooms suitable for disabled access.
Gift Certificates
We do not sell gift cards/certificates for hamam use.
Groups
Due to our capacity limitations, unfortunately, we are unable to accept groups larger than 4 people. Thank you for your understanding.
Any Discount?
Due to the limited availability and space, there is no discount for groups.
Pregnant
We do not recommend admission to those who are more than two months pregnant .
Children Minimum Age 16+
Süleymaniye Hamam is for adults. Children under the age of 16 are not permitted. Children aged 16 and above may enter to hamam only when accompanied by both parents.
Lost Items
We are not responsible for left unattended or forgotten items, but we keep forgotten items for a month.
Hairdryer
We have hair dryers available for you to use free of charge.
To Take Pictures
You can take pictures or videos at the lobby. But it is strictly not allowed to take pictures or videos at the washing area.

Be Aware / Attention
- The floor of the bath area may be slippery, please be careful.
- No smoking and no alcohol at Hamam.
- There can be other guests in other areas of the hamam, so please don`t speak loudly.

Reservations are confirmed only with a prepayment deposit.
Cancellation Policy
Once the deposit is paid, your reservation is confirmed. It cannot be cancelled, modified, transferred, or refunded .
Late Arrival
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment. Late arrivals may result in a shorter service.
If the delay exceeds operational limits, the reservation may be considered a no-show and the booking right may be lost.
